Are you tan?

I used to be a sun worshiper, but have backed off since E was born for obvious reasons. But now I am getting old and will not tan my face, but the rest is fair game. I am not that tan, but hoped to get some sun this week, which really has not happened. So I am off to the pool to work on that!

the last time I was tan was in Mexico, I really haven't tanned since. I was pregnant the following summer and now I can't handle heat very well.

If I take my watch off I have a nice white band on my wrist. I am a little darker complected and tan pretty easy. Allycat is freckled.

I'm not freckled, they are beauty spots. Just ask my grandma. I hated them when I was a kid and thats what she told me.

I routinely tan my left arm (since I'm driving around all day and it's hanging out the window). Last year when my route was a full 9 hours it was just ridiculous.

I never go anywhere without my shades either, so usually be the end of summer I look like a raccoon when I take em' off. But again, this year I'm driving less so it's not noticable.

Other than that I'm a big beleiver in not tanning. I've known people that got skin cancer and I just think the studies show too great of a link between tanning and getting cancer.

I'd rather get my cancer from the NutraSweet in all the diet soda's I drink

thats funny. I have to ask people about their lifestyle everyday, most people I ask about work but I can always tell a driver right away without asking. I was telling one guy about sunglasses the other day and I said they would be great for driving. He was freeking out that he didn't tell me that.

I too used to be a sun worshiping goddess.. but there have been just too many warnings of how bad suntanning can be, so I have stopped lathering up in oil and baking in the sun.  I do use SPF 30 now when out in direct sunlight.

My 20 year old daughter however, bakes and also goes to electric "fake and bake" in the winter months.

Yeah, the tell-tale left arm hey?

You ever get someone who's only got a tan right arm? Perhaps a mailman or a parking cop?

If you did you could probably REALLY amaze them by saying "You must deliver mail huh?" before they get a chance to tell you

Currently I am Lily White as my hubby tells me. I just don't have time. I miss it though just because it was relaxing. I did get a little color but I think I'm the only one that can tell.

I usually naturally have a light year round tan. But last year I didn't get out in the sun any and I actually lost the tan that I had as long as I could remember. But now it's back this year. I'm really bad about not using sunscreen. Usually once I have a tan, I don't burn, and I don't even get any darker, so I don't wear any sunscreen like I should. I've been told it's the Indian in my blood (feathers, not dots) that keeps me from getting burnt or too tan. My skin tone is also kind of orange, when I compare my skin (untanned even) to anyone elses, I look orange.

Darlene, that's one thing I wish I could get across to my sister. She's not as bad as she used to be, but she's so concerned about being tan it drives me nuts.

(you listening sis?)

The whole concept is really bizarre if you really really think about it. "oh, I look better if I'm darker". Says who? Such a strange culture we live in Who made all these decisions about what looks good and what doesn't?

Have you ever seen those girls who are obsessed and are so dark it's obviously not natural? That looks terrible!

I am actually quite fortunate. When I was a kid, my hair was very red although I still tan. My hair is more of a brown now but for as light complected as I am, I tan well.

I have a "farmer's tan" on my arms. I have just a little tan on my legs, just enough to create a sock ring from wearing short socks. I usually burn my face every kite fly from looking up so much.

Now i'm gonna sound like a grumpy old man, but SEE! A farmers tan! That's what I'm talking about!

A tan used to MEAN something! It meant you worked in the fields or in construction. It was a badge of hard work for crying out loud! Maybe it meant you just got back from a vacation somewhere warm and just enjoyed the outdoors for a week.

Now it's spray on or sit in a frickin light bed for an hour so I can look cool.

Hmmm, I wonder if that explains his attraction to Red Headed Starletts? I've noticed his favorite stars to drool over are red heads. Sara Rue, that Kari girl he was torturing Woo with yesterday.

Is Missed Web a red head Web?

i've been doing the fake bake in the summer since after the baby, but i don't go for the "burnt bacon" look (as my daughter calls it).  fat just looks better when it's tan,   and i like to wear tanks, shorts and skirts in the summer...

Well, I gotta admit I won't wear shorts unless it's 130 degrees because of my WHITE WHITE WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITE legs. So even I'm guilty of worrying about how a non-tan body looks

WHAT A FRICKIN' HYPOCRITE!!!!! SHUT UP ME!!! YOU'RE STOOOOOPID!!!!

There! I think it will be awhile before I go shooting my mouth of again!

Actually, probably not

True.  And that's why royalty were "Blue bloods", because they were so pale from not having to do any work that one could see their veins through their skin.

Allycat, you'd make a good politician. Really working the spin there!

The first picture is someone clearly intent on highlighting her WHITE-NESS by going with black hair, dark lipstick and just an overall eerie "I'm almost dead" look.

While the second woman is clearly more attractive regardless of her tan. Long hair blowing lightly in the breeze, sunset in the background.

NICE TRY!

I can tell you 100% honestly I have NEVER been impressed by a tan. In fact, quite the opposite.
