True.  And that's why royalty were "Blue bloods", because they were so pale from not having to do any work that one could see their veins through their skin.

So what's that make me with my Half tan/Half whiter than white?

I am a fan of a light tan, not gross leatherface tan. I have been on both extremes. Right now I'm slightly above the scary white person.

Hey! The Sun lobby could use that picture and this could be their slogan....

"TANNING! You'll look good now, and later? Who give's a damn! You'll be old anyway!"

Speaking of which, you know what we haven't done in awhile, and I think this was RUBY'S thing (if I'm wrong please forgive me), but we haven't had an "ADD A CAPTION TO THIS PHOTO" thread in forever!

Actually, the Coppertone Girl (Peter Criss' ex-wife) still looks great...  But that's funny, in a sad sort of way.

I think it's a delicate balance. I think a slight tan does make most people look a bit healthier than absolute pale, but it makes a difference depending on that person's natural complexion. Personally, I thought I looked sickly during my pale stint.

I was really sick after I had little A and I was pale, thats what I think of when I see really pale people.

I've actually heard reports recently that they think a person with a naturally paler complexion is more susceptable to skin cancer than someone with darker skin.

My father had naturally dark skin. We teased him that he looked Indian all the time, even in winter. And he worked indoors!

I think just about EVERY disease known to man has atleast some connection to a persons genetic makeup. If you're family has a history of it you better be careful.

I know that both my grandparents and my father have died from cancer. In my mind that's what will get me if a truck doesn't take care of me first. I just hope I make it to 80 like my Grandpa and not only into my low 60's like my Dad and other Grandpa.

I think anybody is going to get cancer of some form no matter what. Life style things like tanning and smoking are just going to hurry it along.  I have seen people like my grandmother that eats healthy, never smoked or drank or tanned is on her 3rd bout with cancer. Breast, bone, liver and maybe lung. She did everything right her whole life and she still has it. Then people like her father, smoked drank and ate crap (dipped his toast in bacon grease everyday and ate his bacon) and was a construction worker so always tan,  lived to be 106 years old.

I have the light skin and freckles (er, sun-kisses) so I always go crazy with the sunblock - not interested in tanning at all, although anymore even with 30 spf, it looks like a tan because the freckles can get real dense.

A coworker has a fmaily photo in her office with everyone in black and a black background. She and her husband and younger child are bonewhite and the other daughter is tropic tanned - she doesn't even look like part of the family!

Wow. Who woulda thunk such a long conversation could start with Ruby simply saying she was gonna go get some sun

I give Ruby a pass. She's on vacation. You're supposed to sit out by the pool when you're on vacation!

Now if she starts going to a tanning salon or sitting out for an hour every day to force a tan, then we're gonna have talk! I don't want our Ruby getting skin cancer

Hmmm, I wonder if that explains his attraction to Red Headed Starletts? I've noticed his favorite stars to drool over are red heads. Sara Rue, that Kari girl he was torturing Woo with yesterday.

Is Missed Web a red head Web?

Actually, I think I prefer brunettes but its not a big deal to me. Length and style makes a bigger impact to me than color. Kari changes her hair color all the time. The pic I posted happened to be a red week.

Mrs Web is a brunette.

Web, when you've been married 19 years and have a 5 year old, no way are you getting your way anymore. Deal with it.

I'm actually a natural brunette.

Yes, we could tell that because of the brown eyes.
