So it is just us chicks!


Nothing perverse though- do you all wear make up everyday? I have very uneven skin tone and acne scarring so I wear it almost everyday. I use a liquid foundation, loose powder, powder blush and lots of mascara! I also LOVE eye shadows in bright colors- purple, pink and green!  But I do not look like a ho- I keep it somewhat conservative!

I keep my makeup very natural, and usually only wear it to work but not on weekends. On an average day, I use Nude eye shadow for a base, with Rose shadow over it, charcoal powdered eyeliner, translucent face powder, and some lip gloss. During non allergy season, I usually wear mascara too.

If it's a special occasion, I'll also use concealer to hide the dark circles that are always under my eyes, and I'll add some lipstick, usually a natural rose color.

I've been blessed with very even, clear (though freakishly light) skin, so I don't have a lot of problems to cover up.  (Oh, and I'm also way lazy with these things) so there are many days when I don't wear any make-up whatsoever (Like today.)  But concert nights are a different story...

I'm with you Pip.. somebody at work commented today that they find it funny I only put makeup on when I dress in costumes... but for me, I just never got into makeup on a daily basis - so it really DOES feel like wearing a costume to me. I'm a minimalist when it comes to maintenance... Jeans and tshirts - sweatshirt if it's cold! But if I go out on the town I'll wear makeup, etc.

When I was younger I was always a tomboy...never got into any girly stuff...


Also I was a fat kid so never really wore dresses or the like...as I moved into my teens I became more self conscious and started wearing dark clothes...I did not want to stand out or be noticed...My self esteem plummeted throughout the teens...and I rarely wore skirts.


I am better than I was in some ways... I am still fat but wear jeans now and feel comfortable. I still don't do skirts or make up unless forced... i do have a long black casual skirt that comes in useful on rare occasions.


I hate it when I do put something nice on and then people fuss and pay compliments etc...I struggle to go to "functions - weddings and such like so just don't go.


So make up is just never needed

I never used to wear makeup until I worked at a spa where it was required. Plus, the stuff I wear is a very light powder, so I can't feel it. I don't like the feel of liquid or heavy makeup.

I just don't get that, what if you were allergic to make up? They wouldn't hire you? DISCRIMINATION!

I think women are better off with no makeup. It's more of the COSMO inspired crap. God made you the more attractive sex to begin with, you can't improve on what he's done!

Of course, as I mentioned on the air a few weeks ago I just bought Revlon stocks which are doing HORRIBLE, so if you are gonna use Make Up PLEASE USE REVLON!

Actually, my face broke out one time, and I actually called in sick because my face looked terrible and I couldn't wear makeup. If it was that important to them, they could close down themselves. They ended up calling me after closing because they couldn't figure it out.

The funny part? I think I broke out because I actually WAS allergic to the makeup! The finishing powder I used to use is made from corn starch.

Yeah, my husband prefers me without makeup too.

And for goodness sake, don't use Revlon! (Sorry JR, you bought stock in products that stink.) Take care of your skin, don't cover it with that grease! I suggest Bare Escentuals or Physicians Formula.

Molly have you ever used Bare Essentials? It is soooo expensive, but I would love to try it. They are coming out with alternatives from other brands, I might give them a try when my foundation runs out.


Trust me, I would love to ditch the makeup, but like I said I was NOT blessed with pretty skin. I am doing good in the wrinkle department though!

I'm not allergic to any makeup - I always end up with whatever "seasonal" makeup package was the best sale - like Kohl's last week - I think I walked away with enough makeup to last me the next 10 years (with how much I wear it) for about $8...

Funny, this is the topic right now - I'm watching that What Not to Wear show - those hosts are SO completely viscious!! The show is such a perpetual traffic accident - you can't look away... ACK!

Sorry Jeremy, Revlon never seems to be on sale!

Maybe they could fire him and get a new CEO?

They gotta have SOME kind of a frickin' plan! three years ago they were worth $25 a share!

Ruby, yes, I do use Bare Escentuals for everything except finishing powder. I got a discount while I worked at the spa, and the only thing I have ever run out of is said finishing powder. It's so good for your skin and it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. I think it's worth the price, and I'm pretty frugal.

I don' t know if I've ever used Revlon, but would recommend it, being as they do not test their products on animals, i.e. - torture and murder them for absolutely no reason.

Again, I must urge you all to go to NAVS.org to check if a product is cruelty free. This website DOES NOT show horrible photos of the torture, so you don't have to worry about seeing something that'll make it hard for you to sleep.

Bare Escentuals is listed as DNR, so that doesn't tell me much. But, their representative that visited us claims that they do not test on animals.

I think that means if the paramedics are called for you and you're wearing Bare Escentials they are instructed DO NOT RESCUSITATE.
