Congress ending Dave's fun?

Hey Dave, I heard on the news last night they're closing in on legislation to put an end to online gambling. Actually blocking the sites.

Have you heard anything about this? Are you gonna have to bust some skulls over this one?

It ticks me off. I don't play much anymore, but I think they have more important things to worry about in Congress than if we're playing poker online!

I have been following this closely . It's designed to stop people from using credit cards or other ways of ELECTRONIC money transfers .

Online gambling is illiegal in the USA , but the feeling has been the Govt. has better things to do than to mess with grandma and her bag of quarters . apparently not . guess Osama has been caught and Iraq is stable and I didn't see the news that night.

Other countrys laugh at our laws on this. England legalized it and has made a few bucks on taxes. Hell the site owners want it legal , they would have no problems paying taxes as their buisness would grow.  just another way for Uncle Sam to shoot himself in the foot , reload and shoot the other foot.

I have zero problem if the law passes , ( its cleared the house , in senate now) ( last I saw )

I use western union , the money is sent to a person in either Nicaragua or Malta. I get a check in the mail from the site . its a way around it and the govt. can't do a damn thing about it.

ps-int. gambling illiegal- notice how the comercials always say " come and play for FREE "  ?

its cause they can't advertise the gambling part.

pps- think about how much uncle sam lost in the time it took me to type this , there are 65,000 on my site alone.

I know, I'm surprised instead of trying to shut it down they didn't just tax the hell out of it like they do everything else.

A while back when Spam Emails were the big issue of the day their "brilliant" idea was to start taxing emails a penny a peice, making it less profitable for the spammers.

YEAH, THAT'S IT! MAKE US ALL PAY FOR A FEW IDIOTS!

I don't understand how these Senators and Representatives actually make a career at this. Some have been voted back in for 30 years running. Seems to me people aren't paying attention or the turnover rate would be A LOT higher.

You shouldn't have the edge you do just because you're the incumbant. All that indicates is that America is too lazy to vote on issues.

Argh. Blood pressure is up now! I must relax!
