Zim, I think they were calling the dog dysfuntional.

And I totally agree, my cats are sweet as pie! My husband used to be a dog person, and now he doesn't even want one!

oh my gosh, the increased food bills, twice the pooper scooper.  Letting one dog out in the middle of the night only to let the second one out an hour later becasue they can't go together.  the sight of them sniffing their hind ends all the time   eeeewwwwww.  Now come the vet bills, and training, and grooming.  The one gets jealous over the other, so they fight for attention.  don't do it--two dogs are no fun.

I agree.  Bring on the darling ones. besides dogs do need interation with other dogs. with will keep them from boredome

My dog is named Ellie, too.

I'll send a pic soon.

I don't know if I would do two dogs. I'd have to see if Ellie would get along with another dog. She's an only dog so I don't know if she could take it.

They're called TEDDY BEARS. A TOTAL girl dog!!!! Of course, my current dog is a mini dachsund and I suppose thats a girl dog too

But I have to admit I gave buying it some consideration. I'm over that now

i would have two little indoor dogs, but not two outdoor dogs  -- one will stay home, two will roam.  it's much easier have two little dogs around the same age, rather than wait unitl one is old and set in its ways.  otherwise, the old dog will usually be spitefull of the young dog.  plus, if the one dog had company, then seperation anxiety wouldn't be so hard on it when you are away.  although, it could also mean double trouble...


i hate potty training anything (kids included), but if it's something you don't mind doing, which i think you said that you do...  i guess, it all comes down to what your list of pros and cons is...


eh, what the heck...  get another dog.  it will bring you great joy...

I think the ONLY reason I would want another one DS is because I really worry my dog is too lazy.

I try to play with her for up to an hour a day, but there are days I don't. And I'm not kidding, she sleeps probably 18 hours a day. The other six she's lying around.

When we have my Mom or Sisters dog over she's playful, running around and stuff.

I just think a second dog would pep her up. I really do believe dogs can be depressed, and I think my dog might be depressed

yes, i agree absolutely that dogs can be depressed!  our dog is a lab, but if i come home withoug the boy, i can tell he's bummed out by the way he goes outside looking for him and then to his bedroom and then he just hangs his head --  it's so pathetic...  but when the boy comes home he is so happy!

You should have someone leave their dog for a few days and see how she reacts to it staying. Some dogs like visitors but not roomates.

she is five?  i think she is probably acting age appropriate.  i've noticed that little bear has been sleeping and layzing around alot.  he goes outside everytime the baby goes out to play, but he's soon scratching at the door wanting to come in and lay around.  he's gonna be seven on christmas eve...

Vets bills.....food bills......poop.....pee.......Pups that lick their @55 then your handsome little face......


But what the heck...if you have one then you might as well have another, and hope that one doesn't get depressed too.
