Love 'em when they are tasteful and well done.  I have a tribal heart on the inside of my right ankle. It is generally visible when I'm at work because I tend to wear dresses or skirts, but it isn't something that jumps right out at you unless you are a "feet person".

Jailhose tats, shock tats, or one contiguous tat that covers your entire body are gross. Unless you are of specific ethinic decent where such things are culturally expected, there is just no reason for a facial tattoo.

I can't stand tats on the back of people's necks. I don't get that, it just seems gross. But like I said, otherwise, it's that person's body, not mine, whatever they do to it is their problem.

But one thing that totally creeps me out is those huge holes people are putting in their ears. I don't understand that one.

I thought of one other thing I'm really not fond of in the way of tats (since it's already been mentioned) is wording.  Pictures I like... words just for the sake of words mostly look silly.

I agree. Aren't tattoos supposed to be creative?

yea.....and how about piercings? I understand the ears, I understand the belly button ones....but how about these turkeys runnin around with like a bone or a bull-ring in their noses. I had a lab partner in a class in college....she was VERY intelligent and well-spoken. except she had this ring through her septum. I couldn't speak with her and not laugh. she also had this thing in her eyebrow that made it look like she got hit with an industrial staple.....

In New Orleans I saw a girl with a whole-face tattoo. why?!

Facial tattoos make no sense to me. Personally, I wouldn't peirce anything other than my ears, but again, unless it's disgusting, I don't mind peircings on other people. But there are quite a few disgusting peircings out there as well.

When I see a person with a facial piercing, particularly nose rings and lip rings, I have a near uncontrollable desire to grab it and run!

I wanted to see the girl in my class sneeze, to see if that ring would flap up and down....

Wow , where to start ?  If your Samoan there great . It's part of their culture and all.   I'm not an Islander .   If your in the military they are justified .   I'm not in the military.    Most guys  love the constant reminder that another guy has "been there " " inked that " tattoo that  girls get in an " intimate place ".    I'm single .    If you got one cause that "really cool guy" ( or girl ) on MTV got one they are O.K.    I don't watch MTV    If you enjoy advertizing the Sci Fi channel for free thats O.K.    I don't watch much TV. ( I don't wear Coke sweatshirts at $50.00 each either )    If it's art , then why can't I find a tattoo in a museum ?     I'm not in France     tattoos -  don't ask , don't tell .

Dave, you're funny!  I like your whole run-down.  And it reminded me to mention 2 things:

1. I have a cousin - she and her husband each got matching "been there" tattoos of each other's names - on their left breasts.  They're divorced now, of course, and I have to wonder how her new boyfriend feels about looking down at that intimate area and seeing her ex's name.  (Roll eyes - Hey, someone out there really needs to find me a rolling the eyes emoticon!)

2. And about the military - I have a friend who is much younger than I, and he says tattoos are Rock & Roll.  That makes me crazy, because in my mind, they're a military thing.  Tattoos are for old craggly ex-Navy men, not for pretty young things like Jon Bon Jovi.  Somehow, it did become popular in the rock culture, and has now spread to - well, EVERYONE!  I can't wait for this stupid trend to end.  It's affecting my lusting fun!
