Turnbow SUCKS AGAIN!

3 runs in one third of an inning to lose the game last night 6-5 at Cincinatti.

Five blown saves in a row!

LITERALLY the difference between our current record of 46 - 50 and what our record SHOULD be 51-45! WE SHOULD BE 3 games out and in second place, instead we're 8 out in third place!

How long is Yost gonna keep up the "He's our guy" BS?

I'd toss him in AAA for 2 weeks to remind him of his future if he keeps on blowing games!!!

"a week or a couple of days!?!?!"

Kolb will get chance to close

Cincinnati - After reliever Derrick Turnbow's latest meltdown in the ninth inning on Friday, Milwaukee Brewers manager Ned Yost said he will close games on "a matchup basis" until Turnbow can get straightened out.

Yost said right-hander Dan Kolb will have a chance to close games, and left-hander Brian Shouse could be used in that role, depending on matchups.

The Cincinnati Reds beat the Brewers, 6-5, early Saturday in a game that ended at 1:15 a.m. Eastern time. The game had been delayed nearly 3 hours by rain before it started.

Turnbow blew a ninth-inning lead for the second straight game and was pinned with his seventh loss of the season. He is 0-4 with four blown saves and a 34.36 earned run average in his last eight appearances.

Turnbow allowed one hit and three earned runs in one-third of an inning as the Reds rallied from a 5-3 deficit in the ninth on Friday. Ken Griffey's two-run single off Dana Eveland gave the Reds a walk-off victory and pushed their lead over the Brewers to five games in the National League wild-card chase.

"We just match up, situation to situation," Yost said before the Brewers played the Reds on Saturday night at Great American Ball Park. "Until Derrick gets back on track. I don't know how long it will be, a week or a couple days."

Kolb is 2-2 with a 5.87 ERA in 33 appearances with the Brewers this season. Kolb was the Brewers' closer during the 2004 season, finishing with 39 saves and a 2.98 ERA.

But he struggled with the Atlanta Braves last season, compiling a 3-8 record and 11 saves with a 5.93 ERA.
