And they are doing it at the new 34-acre amphitheater at Glencoe Camp Resort during the annual Sturgis motorcycle rally.

The new Rock’n The Rally music festival kicks off this year on Sunday, Aug. 6, and runs through Thursday, Aug. 10.

The Festival’s music lineup features:

• Aug. 6 — Big & Rich, Cowboy Troy, Keith Urban, Shooter Jennings, Cross Canadian Ragweed.

• Aug. 7 — Steve Miller Band, Cheap Trick, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Gregg Rolie

• Aug. 8 — Nickelback, Black Crowes, Live, Gin Blossoms

• Aug. 9 — Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Joe ****er, Foghat and Georgia Satellites

• Aug. 10 — Sammy Hagar and the Wabos, REO Speedwagon, John Kay and Steppenwolf and .38 Special.

Tickets for the shows range in price from $50 to $70. Go to www.starticketsplus.com.

August 8th looks good! How does it work? Can I rent a motorcycle and a 2 man tent and just park and camp along side the dirt highway?

well it might take some effort on my part, but when I think of the gas milage savings this seems like a viable economic alternative to motorized transportation!

I truly wish I was going to be in Sturgis for the rally.  Alas, Aug 4 - 7, I will be in Chicago with Momma and my sister to see the tall ships.  Aug. 7th is Momma's 72nd birthday.

really??

when I saw the banner ad, I orignally thought it was a "grab a ship in Milwaukee and ride it to chicago" thing, but I didn't get the impression that was it??

maybe its too big of a hassle to come dock in milwaukee, just to pull up anchor to go to chicago. I bet with a good breeze they could make it down there in 45 minutes!

I'll have to look at the ads again.....
