How in the world do you push a Saint Bernard out a window?!

Man saves dog thrown from window

WARSAW (Reuters) - A man was bruised but alive on Wednesday after a Saint Bernard dog thrown out a two-story window landed on him as he was walking down the street in the southern-Polish city of Sosnowiec.

The 110-pound dog was pushed out of the window by its drunken owner Monday, police said.

"The dog had a soft landing because it fell on a man," said police spokesman Grzegorz Wierzbicki. "The dog escaped with just a few scratches."

"The man was also more in a psychological state of shock than physically hurt," Wierzbicki added.

The one-year-old dog, named Oskar, was placed in an animal shelter while police investigate its owners for animal abuse.

Did anyone mention if is was raining cats and dogs at the time?

Seriously, though, humanity boggles my mind sometimes... so many people out there having kids and getting animals because they need to be loved so much, and then not having the skills, pass on their pathetic inability to be anything but mean to the next generation of kids and animals. Karma keeps me sane.

Can I push the owner out the window and see if he is as lucky?

Could you imagine, just strolling down the street, and then get hit by a falling large dog?

The owner would probably fit through the window better. And make an interesting squishy sound when he hits the pavement.

But still, I can't understand the logistics of it. We're not talking a poodle or even a labrador here, this is a Saint Bernard! How in the world can you even fit the dog through the window?

I would rather it rain men.

I don't understand people like that. I like dogs and cats, but I know that I'm not a good pet person, so I don't have animals. It's called personal responsibility. You know, like you take care of yourself and don't expect people to do it for you. You take care of your animals, not just give up on them when you're tired of them. We had the massive power outages here and people were griping because the government did not provide them with ice, etc. The people that lived in the projects in New Orleans are complaining because they are tearing down some of them and building new ones. They say they want the old ones and want to move in NOW. When did we become a society that thinks everyone owes us something? Give me a break.

The good news is he was able to revive the man he landed on with the first aid kit and whiskey barrel he carries around his neck.

I think its a way to play politics....the power of victimhood. But personally, I still think the fact that all them people are living in trailers is a disgrace. With the amount of money we pay in taxes, the federal government has absolutely failed these people. I read they believe the trailers that were provided have toxic levels of fumes too?? An absolute disgrace.

I don't know about the toxic fumes, but I think that providing them with trailers is better than saying "Hey, you're on your own." I know several people that were displaced during the flood of 93 and they were ecstatic to have someplace to live, even if it was a trailer. We even had a problem with one lady that refused to move out five years after the flood.

I think the trailers are ok- except not with toxic levels. If they could have the chance to buy them and keep them that would be better. It is better than nothing!
