Yeah I noticed someone said crap on another thread and it did not filter it. I guess you guys are right, but little E does not sound like a sweet princess when she says it!

Do Brits call them ****tails? Definetly drinking ml, l etc. (a shot isn't a shot unless it's an oz.)

so it turns out he was dropped by his insurance awhile back. he says he will have me cash next week, please allow the time for him to transfer the funds (I am guessing from ira or roth). I said fine, but if I don't hear from him, we are going to small claims.

Chef is an office manager at a law firm. I am not worried at all.

there was a big push a decade ago I think to make it illegal, but I don't think it is.....I knew there was a big push for at least liability coverage....

Chef has a friend who is a lawyer who said that she would place a call to "instill the fear of God" into the guy should he not come through. I offered to buy her a nice dinner for 2 should I need her to do that for me, but she said she'd do it for a cookie! she likes to be scary lawyer lady!

I won't go through my insurance, we'll just go to small claims if necessary. 

well, maybe its switched here, but I don't think so. I was risky when I first went to college, I drove without insurance for a couple of years. It wasn't illegal, but was & is stupid, to do so.

I've got a lawyer friend of chef's lined up, willing to do the pro-bono work shoud it come to that. I owe her a cookie if she needs to do anything, is all. I don't want to go through my insurance; even if its no fault of my own, I still see that as an excuse for them to jack my rates.....not gonna happen if I can avoid it. 

I agree, I can't imagine ever driving without it- even just liability to protect myself. But if I had a car with any real value - more than my deductible, I would have to have full coverage. I think the legality thing in SC might be new- within the last 15 years, but it really just might be the way they inforce it. You have to show proof of insurance when you pulled over or in a wreck. You will go to jail if you do not have proof. The highway dept and the insurance companies are working with the DMV to make sure everyone is insured that has tags, but of course nothing is fool proof.
