I have Elmo on in one room and Elmo on in the other room. Little A just got done eating strangled eggs with ketchup, applesauce, and string cheese. Yum Yum what a feast.

I do tobasco sauce on my strangled eggs from the greasy spoon. I tried it once, because I couldn't believe it'd be good, and I was hooked. tobasco and black pepper! I tried ketchup too and it was ok, could do it sometimes, but tobasco is now a must!!

I never thought of that- I will have to try it. I love hot food and tabasco sauce. I made dirty rice this week and tabasco is a must!

a couple of the restaurants in town ruby do these really good chorizo and scrambled egg breakfast burritoes. the kicker in them is a hotsauce, and its soo good, so the tobasco and eggs is not a far stretch from that....

I remember really likin the dirty rice in New Orleans...how do you make yours??

Zatarains

At least this week, but I have made it before from scratch- would have to dig for the recipe. But I like Zatarains and I doctor it up with different things- sausage sometimes, and I like to add onions.

We serve it with a veggie and that is it- the ground beef and rice in the dirty rice round out the meal. My hubby does not like to eat stuff like that for dinner- he likes bigger meals. But if I am in a hurry and have to cook- I make stuff like that. He will eat it and then complain!

hey it sounds a bit healthier than like most of the hamburger helpers out there....sometimes you need quick and easy and good!

Agreed- especially with kids. We really try to eat as a family every night. If we were single I might not care so much- but can't beat family time. We do not do hamburger helper except the stroganoff every six months!

in a pinch, I don't mind the lasagna one, but I have to throw in mushrooms and onions at the very least too, maybe even green pepper. I like it because its one of the few ones where you don't need to add milk and/or butter for the sauce.

wow, I used to live off of stuff like that a decade ago!

I do ketchup sometimes but tobasco sauce and eggs are a big thing around here, everyone does it.

I had the Zatarans dirty rice beans and sausage frozen dinner for lunch today. It was really good. We like the Zatarans Chicken Creole.

wow I did not know they did frozen dinners. that'd be good for lunch.

sparky I remember having Oxtail soup when I was in South Dakota. I forget the place, but it was kinda eerie because there was an ox pen across the street...... Is that commonplace food out there? I think it was the first time I had a buffulo burger too...

oxtail soup. yucky, thats not a SD thing. Buffalo is a big thing here, it is great. We don't eat much beef, its lower in fat and cholesterol and tastes better to me.

We have a big buffalo just South of town. They process the meat themselves. It is good, but we can't afford it very often.
