Trish's kids

Here is a pic of my son. He's 11.

And here are a couple of pics of my daughter. The first one is not a good one, but it says SO much about her character.

Thanks, Ally. Your daughter is adorable. I didn't get a chance to post on anyone's threads, but they are all very, very cute.

Thanks, Ultimo. My son is taller than I am now. He's 5 ft. 8 in. tall and loves that he's taller than me.

Very cute kids Trish!

I'm surprised though, I expected to see some red hair

My daughter is 6.

JR, I KNOW about the red hair! That is so weird, too, because my husband's side of the family is full of redheads. I'm the only one in my family that is a redhead. (My Mom used to be, but Miss Clairol talked her out of it.) I thnk my daughter's hair will change, though. She looks just like I did when I was a kid and my hair was that color. It didn't turn red until I was about 18. Weird, huh?

Wow! 18? I didn't know your hair could change color that late in life! I would think you would have freaked out when it started changing on you!

Ditto what Jeremy said about the redhair.  Your kids are adorable Trish. I have alway thought that couples who have 2 children one of each a boy, and a girl are lucky.  What a complete family!

Thanks, guys! M is such a daddy's girl. She even has a "look" that she reserves for daddy. She pulls up her shoulder, ducks her head to one side and smiles sweetly and makes a little puppy noise to try and get him to do what she wants. It used to work all the time, but his daddy immunity is building up. That and I also told him that if he didn't quit giving into her every whim that she was all his when she turned 16!

J is my charmer. He's such a cool kid. My dad spends a lot of time with him teaching him the old school ways - hand shaking 101, chivalry 101, etc. It's great. I absolutely hate it when I go to church and exchange the sign of peace with someone and they have a limp writsted handshake. Not so with my boy! He's become a lot more responsible this summer. He loads the dishwasher for me and helps me out a lot in the house. He even helped me slice up a peck of peaches without me asking. I'm truly blessed by both of my children.

Great lessons- handshake 101!!! every boy should be so lucky to be taught that! My best friend in grade school was the size of a linrebacker, but had such a wuss handshake. I think I yelled at him about that....

That is one thing that bothers me, people that have wimpy handshakes.

I am always worried after I shake someone's hand if I did it too hard. I have felt a couple pops before.

Yeah, there is such a thing as a too hard handshake. But I don't trust people with wimpy handshakes...

Oh that freaks me out when you go to shake someones hand and its just kind of limp. I don't know why it bugs me so much but it does.

I used to have a boss at my old city job who whenever he shook your hand would give you a good firm handshake coupled with putting his other hand firmly against on shoulder.

It was almost as if he was conveying the point "I'm gonna shake your hand so hard I'm concerned your arm may fall off, so let me hold it in place for you until we're done shaking".

see thats why lessons are necessary too! just a firm handshake. not too hard, not too soft. just solid. It conveys thoughtfullness and confidence.

Oh, Sparky, you cool cat! Thanks for the bump. J is now 13 and is 5 ft. 10. He's not only taller than me, he's sooooo much taller than me. M is now 8 and she is such a diva. She's waiting impatiently for the day she can wear make-up and high heels. Oy.
