The Nite Owl Club

Here we are again!

The founding members of the Night Owl Club.

We're missing Cheeselvr though, she's become a regular at the NOC. And I sure do miss Woo. I wish she could play more at night like she used to

But didn't you say after discounts, mail-in rebates, cash-back rewards and other incentives you only paid $3.18 for it?

I was sooo anti-home computer until 1997 when I realized, I could not be. Up until that time, I would watch the littl 13 " tv and yell at it. Now that I can get immediate feedback an the internet, I relegate my yelling time here instead.

But the nice thing is that you CAN multi task when your on the forum. That's why I like it more than chat rooms most of the time.

You can be cooking, or cleaning, or watching TV, or working on paperwork, and just every five minutes or so take a minute to catch up.

We just have a 25" tv.

I was watching my internet tv tech show dl.tv and was thinking about how it was so small here on the laptop screen but yet it didn't bother me. But then, in perspective, I noticed that the little window on the laptop actually "looks" bigger than the tv because I'm so close to it.

You know, I always think about that perspective when I go to a movie.

If you sit near the back, the screen is only as big as say your hand if you hold it out in front of you. If you go home, sit on your couch and put your hand in front of you the TV is only about the size of your hand.

So why does it seem so much bigger of a picture when you're at the theater?

It IS, but the portion of your field of view that it is occupying is no different, so it should seem like you're just watching your TV at home.

OMG, its as big as a room not as a tv. Perspective has no matter in this. It is huge and you are small. The people on the screen are 12 feet tall.

Ok. But what about THIS.

Let's say you're at the movie theater in row 40. The screen is huge, granted.

But now you go home and you pull up a chair to about three feet in front of your 36 inch TV.

WHAT'S THE BIGGER PICTURE?

the movie screen is always bigger no matter how close you are to it. Have you been drinking?

lol. I KNOW it's bigger PHYSICALLY. I'm just saying the PERCEPTION would be that the TV is bigger, and in viewing something perception is all that really matters.

Here's a perfect example. They've got TV glasses you can wear now. The glasses completely cover your eyes, and have LCD screens that are only about 2 inches big in them, but what you see is a picture that covers your ENTIRE field of vision.

From the brains standpoint, those glasses provide a bigger picture than any movie screen ever made.

THAT makes sense, right?!?!?!

I AM NOT INSANE!!!
