My husband (master of the remote) didn't get to the mute button quickly enough & I caught "Imperfection" being played as the theme for a commercial for a new show. I don't know what channel or anything, but it was about girls overcoming obsticles or something. I was very excited to hear it! Odd, because I was just on their website a few days ago, and didn't read anything about it. Well, good for them!

An excerpt from Marti's latest blog, which I loved...
 
 So a couple of weeks ago, I took a trip to LA, where your favorite band won an award at the BMI awards! That's right...Hall and Oates! Okay, we won something too, but I lost all train of thought when Daryl Hall strolled in all windswept and tousled like something off the cover of a romance novel...I'm telling you, if the man had been wearing a ruffled shirt I would have straight up ripped my bodice off...(I don't know what a bodice is but I'm pretty sure chicks in romance novels always have them...) It was my first awards ceremony and a fun time...believe it or not, I sat at the same table as the writing duo who wrote "Stand By Me" and "Hound Dog" among other tunes...Stand By Me is one of my favorite songs of all time, so you can imagine how totally composed, calm, and collected I was the whole time (not...)

I know a lot of you (besides me) like this band, so I'm copying Marti's latest blog about their new song available for download. And Trixie is the kitten she just adopted from a shelter. smile.gif


This is your mission, should you choose to accept it...

So...you have .99 cents sitting in the cupholder in your car, buried in the bottom of your purse, deep within the recesses of your couch. You could get a cheeseburger from the Wendy's .99 menu...you could get nine pieces of .10 machine gum...you could look for six cents on the ground and then buy a sweet pair of earrings at The Dollar Tree...OR you can take my challenge! I just got the first ever weekly Soundscan report for "Butterflies"...the cool thing about this report is not only that I can see how many copies we sold, but it breaks down by city exactly how many digital copies were sold in that city! So far, of course, Columbus Ohio is pulling through like a champ...and surprisingly, the next biggest supporter is New York City.
Now, I'm pumped to have ANY sales at all considering that we have hardly any publicity or airplay on this song yet. BUT now I'm onto all you punks in the cities that sold NO copies yet! smile.gif And I'm not gonna lie-you hurt my feelings a little bit....so here's my challenge...I won't see the next soundscan report until next Wednesday...I hope every city that had a big fat zero beside it comes up with at least one sale. If you live in one of these cities, or know someone who lives in one of them, be the one..or get your friends or family to be the one sale!
What do you get out of this? Why should you give me your .99 instead of getting a delicious cheesburger? Well, mostly because you love me..but also, I've decided that the first person from each city who emails me after your purchase will get a special video thank you from me and Trixie. (who's Trixie? find out in my last blog)

Ok.  I sent my .99 cents off to Marti.  clap.gif

I really like the fact that Amazon.com has the cover art embedded in the mp3 file.  It saves me a step or two when I add it to the station.  I wonder why iTunes doesn't do that.  hmm.gif

I'll send an email off to her LS, but I'm sure I won't be the first person from Milwaukee to buy the song.  Sucks living in a big city.  tears.gif
