Ha ha!  Remember the video for her version?  She was wearing this horrendously tight zebra-patterned spandex that was just simply not meant for a fat woman.  And Keith Richards was in the video too, because he produced it, right?  And Randy Jackson was playing bass (the black Randy Jackson, not Zebra's Randy Jackson.)  And she had a crazy hair-style, and glitter everywhere, and just looked ridiculous!

Funny story about elections and signs. Back when 1st GW was running for Pres, Bill Boner was running for Mayor of Nashillve. ALL OVER town were \"Bush\" \"Boner\" signs. Just sort of made you laugh.

I have a friend whose last name is Bonar (pronounced "boner"). He used to work for Bush Moving Company, but got hurt on the job and ended up having to sue for workman's comp. The case was Bonar vs Bush.

So yeah, it makes you giggle in the middle schooler kind of way.

   Tennessee Girl I saw this movie 3 times in the theater.  It is great.  Unfortunately, any time it's on TV, and I think I can catch a bit of it, it's   a) cropped and   b) so edited swear-word wise, you practically lose the character's personality altogether.

I didn't discover this song til the 90's, but it's my favorite song of the 80's.

   Tennessee Girl I remember when it was brand new.  I saw the video, and I still remember how I felt.  My mouth dropped, and I was like "Oh my God - this is the greatest song ever written!"  It has such a cool feel to it, it's romantic but also boppy.  Robbie's deep almost monotone vocals with the high harmonies, the mysterious sounding bridge, etc etc ...  It's just a perfect perfect song.

God you’re young.  (OK, with that out of the way…  )  It is an incredible song - Very intense.  I wonder if you’ve ever heard Donna Summer’s version?  She does a great version too.  (Both of them can really sing.)  On one of Donna's tours, I saw her about 3 times on this same tour- and for this song, she was wearing a cool dress, and stood on this platform thingie.  And the wind and these cool lights were blowing and shining up on her.  It was (for lack of a better term) magical - gave me chills.
