my buddy randy from work draws comic books and stuff. he's pretty good. he's got a few out there in comic book shops around town and goes to conventions and stuff to set up a table. he's been practicing a lot, so at work he's been drawing a frame of his work buddies in an action scene, coloring it in and signing it. I guess I'm next & I am really excited to see how it turns out!


If its good I will scan it in and post it here on the forum.

My son is very talented in that area- drawing. He is losing interest though cause he thinks you can't make any money drawing. I tried to explain that nothing everything is about making money- he can always continue it as a hobby. I also tell him you never know where it might lead you- maybe not to a famous artist- but there are lots of things that art might used for- animation, cartoonist, illustrator or just drawing for friends and family. He has a gift, I hate to see him waste it.

I am hoping that he will have a good art teacher in high school that can run with his talent. It happened intermittently in grade school, like in 2nd grade he won 2nd place in the Southeastern Wildlife Poster contest- he was up against 1-12th graders! It is a huge tourist wildlife we have here every February. But that teacher tried to help him enter things and spent extra time with him. He needs that to boost his self esteem. I will be looking into their programs next week.

i used to pick a favorite picture from my comic and then draw it. Not trace but draw it. some came out good. others just ticked me off!
