Hope he heals like they think he will.

LOS ANGELES - Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton is recovering from radiation treatment for throat cancer and will skip the beginning of the band's upcoming tour, the band's publicist said.

Hamilton, 55, will be recovering with his family after a seven-week radiation treatment he just completed, publicist Marcee Rondan said Thursday. He will join the "Route of All Evil" tour in mid-October.

Rondan said she had no further information about Hamilton's condition.

David Hull, a longtime friend of the band who played in the Joe Perry Project, will fill in as bassist, she said.

The tour is set to launch Sept. 5 in Columbus, Ohio, according to the band's Web site.

Hamilton has played with Aerosmith since the band's inception in 1969, according to the Web site.

did they ever say what was up with Steven Tyler when the cancelled them dates last year because he had a medical condition? was it bunions?

I do not know- I do not think they ever said- maybe it was a cover up for this, so that he could have some privacy while alll eyes were on Steven!

I haven't liked Aerosmith since they supposedly cleaned up in 1980.  Rag Doll is no Train Kept A Rollin. Dude Looks Like a Lady is no Toys In the Attic.

They are awesome live- I think that statement is true of many bands though, sometimes it is hard to recapture a perfect album and keep it up. A lot of it has to do with the timing of the release too- where we are in life and where we were when the first albums came out.
