who else actually liked Milli Vanilli for their MUSIC?

someone jokelinked me "Girl You Know It's True" on YouTube a few days ago and watching it reminded me how much I loved the music and that I DIDN'T CARE when Rob and Fab were outted because I loved the songs so much regardless of who sang them.

Did anyone else actually like these guys (or whoever sang it) for the songs and didn't really care if it was Rob and Fab singing or not?

Their music was catchy....and who cared who sang it....I just heard a song the other day on Siruis and my 15 year old son said he thought they were banned from ever being played again...and how many other bands had stand in's...I mean I'm sure that someone did the singing besides Josie in the Pussycats, and there was no way Archie and Jughead were the real singers in the Archies....

I'm guilty too, I would have liked to see the real singers do an album. Which I think they tried?

was never a big fan. Doesn't mean you won't find me singing.

I actually saw them perform in milwaukee when they had what they claim was a "microphone" malfunction when it was obviously a tape misfunction. this was 1989 or 90 I think, and they were a part of a big show that included Paula Abdul and Tone Loc too....maybe others too? But yea that was awkward....

I did a search for this tour and this is what I came up with; something from a paula abdul bio:

As part of the Club MTV tour, she performed with Tone-Loc, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, but the tour suddenly turned sour when it was revealed that fellow act Milli Vanilli were frauds. The experience weighed heavily upon the other artists, but Abdul slipped away unscathed.

I don't recall lisa lisa and the cult jam; maybe we got there late..

I liked a few of the songs. Some were overplayed. Wonder what they are doing now. Washing cars?

I liked the music.

Rob Pilatious returned to Germany and in April of 1998 his body was found in a hotel room in Frankfurt after he mixed a fatal combo of pills and Alcohol. the other continues to pursue a solo cuarreer

Firstly, of course I care that it wasn't them.  I don't like to be lied to.

Secondly, the songs were OK - nothing I would've purchased, but will sing along to if they're on.

Thirdly, they were beautiful!  (Just wanted to add that in )
