Wal-Mart really does suck

I was commenting to my Mom yesterday when I gave her a ride home from (where else) the casino, that it's funny how the price of the products in the store determine the clientele, particularly in a big city like Milwaukee.

You go to Kohl's Department store and it's mostly middle class or above. Well dressed people that seem semi-sophisticated.

You go to Target and it's still not bad. A little bit more of a casual crowd, but not horrible.

You go to K-Mart and you're starting to see a lot of people that look like they came straight from the welfare office. Lotta diapers being sold at K-Mart. The isles are dirty, the customers are loud. Their kids are screaming I WANT THIS, I WANT THAT. You see a lot of wife-beater Tee shirts and women wearing clothes that are atleast two sizes too small for them.

Then you go into Wal-Mart. You're now nearly alone as the clean, neatly dressed person, save for the old foks that shop there because they're on a fixed income. EVERYONE is walking around looking like they're 10 minutes removed from their bed. Hair discheveled, clothes you would think they only use when painting something. Women smacking their kids and telling them to shut up in plain sight of everyone Today I had two guys that looked like they were straight out of a scene from COPS in front of me. One of them let out this huge burp that resonated through half the store and the other chuckled and said "good one"

I've been to Wal-Marts in smaller ciities and this isn't the case. But in Milwaukee Wal-Mart is NOT a pleasant shopping experience

Yeah when I had to take the boy to the jail tour thing, I did not want to sit in the waiting area for an hour so I ran to the nearby BiLo food store. It is a very poor and crime riddled area. The store was nasty, the food choices were slim and things I needed- feta cheese and roast beef, were not even there! The customers smelt and some I had just seen getting released from the jail. And the cashiers and baggers were rude and did not even say hi or thanks!

Hi Ruby! Haven't chatted in awhile. I like your rainbow egg-thingee. What does that all mean- that those little images are going to "hatch"? I'm a little slow when it comes to that. I noticed a few people have those. What are they about?

Yes ma'am! Can't remember if it was MZ, Ultimo or even Zim that first posted them. Each month he has an assortment that you can choose from and you never know what is inside. Some of the even evolve after the first picture!

Here is the site- if you want one you have to highlight the text within the box and copy it, then come back here, click on your name and edit profile, then paste the copied text into the signature box and save the changes!
If you stroll to the bottom you can see all of the hatchlings!

How are you doing- did you get a new job?

Hey, thanks for the info. I got 2 interviews coming up so we'll see! Thanks for asking. I'm still at my current job but feel its time to move on after 7 years. Interviews make me nervous. I hate knowing people are scrutinizing your every word and move.....yikes!

I am at a crossroads myself. I know I can make more money, but I also like having a job where I can come and go as needed to accomodate my kids- appointments, sickness and my son's little mishaps! I also like that if the boy goes to college there in four years the only thing I have to pay for is his books. But after five years I am feeling the itch to move on and my boss has been testing my patience lately. He has had a lot of personal problems and he of course brings them to work- which I guess we all do. But he is so unpredictable and I hate that. Depends on the day, weather or how he slept on how he answers questions. And he has a new boss now and I think he is doing things a lot different now since his boss does not know what he is doing and if it is wrong!

I guess the grass isn't always greener on the other side. All fertilizer is the same!

Yeah that worries me too- the last job I had I had the same come and go freedom- and it is not like I am a slacker, but with two kids- stuff happens- but everyone was in my business and everyone elses! My boss was horrible and though the pay was great I DREADED getting out of bed. I am not at that point yet!

The Walmarts around here are the same way Riggs.... totally trashy people there, including the cashiers, and the clerks.  If they didn't have such great deals then I wouldn't even go there at all.  I live only a few miles from the Rhode Island border and more than half the cars in the parking lot are RI plates.  And I am not saying RI people are gross people, but the city's bordering Massachusetts.  (yes Massachusetts, that is where I live Riggs)  are dirty and ghetto like cities.
