Good Saturday morning!

Going to get some coffee and start the yardwork- edge, cut and relay straw. Gotta clean out the shrimp freezer too so we can fill it up! Hubby was home by 11:30 with a full cooler! Shrimp and grits anyone?

Good morning all!  Been here at the shop since 6:30. The place is nice and clean now.  Already been to the Wally World across the street to get an air freshener for the bathroom.

Good morning.  I've never tried Shrimp and Grits, bring it on, why not??

Going to work later on today, and this morning I'm taking Rex to the park to play.  Kaisha left for NYC today, and will be attending the Yankee / Red Sox game tomorrow.  Say a prayer for her, and that none of the NY fans give her a hard time.  And pray she has a safe trip.  Thank you.

Good morning. I had not intended to be up yet since I didn't go to bed until 2:00, but the neighborhood is noisy. There's a pack of dogs messing around and they have every other dog in the area barking and upset. Our dog keeps running to the low window she can see out of and whinning. So much for sleeping in.

I guess I just as well start my Saturday morning server routines and get that going.

Morning all, was going to get up early and hit some garage sales but decided since it was dreary outside to go back to sleep for a while. Now if I would have gotten up when I wanted to it would have been sunny by the time I left.

Yard has been weeded, planted a few more flowers, painted the mailbox stand and the boys are laying pinestraw. So I am now inside cleaning. Hubby is heading 48 quarts of shrimp and he cleaned out the freezer for me- nothing like a bunch of threats to get everybody motivated.

Praying for Kaisha's safe trip!

Be back later- hope everyone is good!

I've already took my hubby to the BMV, played with kittens at Petsmart, went to farmer's market, went to the co-op, went to the grocery store, fixed a relish tray with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, these small french pickles that I thought were sweet pickles when I bought them but aren't so I hope people still eat them, bread and butter pickles, and green and black olives. I also made some homemade buttermilk dressing to go with all of that, and I'm bringing some red pepper hummus and pitas. I hope it's enough to make people not realize I didn't make a regular dish for the pot luck. And then I watched home improvement shows and PBS, took a nap, and now I'm going to hop in the shower.

Sounds yummy, Mz.  I'd say you covered the potluck dish requirement quite well.  The only time I can recall even thinking twice about what someone contributed to a pot luck was the time our office admin assistant kicked in a whole dollar... then proceeded to stuff her face AND fix a plate she announced she was taking home for her husband. Between what she ate and what she took home, she could have fed a family of four. I told my other irritated co-workers that perhaps we should try assuming that she and her husband were having financially tough times or something.  I'm not sure they bought it, but at least I tried.

I usually make dishes for pot lucks, but now with my diet requirements, I just couldn't think of anything I wanted to make.

I used to work with a lady who, whenever anyone brought anything in, such as donuts in the morning, she would take some home for her kids. She had 12 kids. She wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, though.

lol I work with somebody like that too. ONCE I said "hey I am makin a run for sub sandwiches, you want in? He hands me $5 and says I want a sandwich, chips, small soup and bring me back change for the soda machine......yea, the sandwich costs $4.89 itself you cheap-azz dimwit!

he was there when I was invited to have Menudo today and he wasn't invited. Too much of a leech; he would have ate most of it then try and bum 55 cents for a soda too. hahaha I could tell he was just livid!!

Well, the Huskers are going to lose, but the guys don't look too bad and its a non conference game. USC is a good team. Our offense is playing better than it has for a few years.
