Run-ins with the past

Can I ask: is there someone that you really wish you could run into? Someone that you may have not seen from in years? Someone you think about every so often and someone you have unfinished business with? If so, if you ran into that person, do you think you'd know what to say if you only had a few moments?

That IS a deep question. But a good one. We need to bump it tomorrow when my mind isn't fogged over because I'd like to think about it and answer

Good question. I'll have to ponder this one. I'm sure there is someone.

I ran into an old girlfriend from back in highschool a couple of years ago at a ballgame. didn't talk to her, really it would have been awkward. It was nice to see that she was ok, was havin a fun time. She still had her 80s hair.

I ran into the guy I walked with at high school graduation.  Didn't say anthing other than hi because his wife and kids were with him.  She didn't look amused that some random female said hi to her husband. I didn't want to make trouble over just trying to be social.

Yeah there is someone. There was this guy Chris that I become pretty good friends with in school. We never did anything outside of school. We met through my boyfriend at the time. Chris had threatened to kick my boyfriend's ass when things got ugly. Shane had been giving me all kinds of crud. Chris stuck up for me and we were bonded from then on. We actually ended up with the nicknames of "Brandon" and "Andrea" from Beverly Hills, 90210. LOL! There was always the close relationship with all the flirting. There was one problem with our relationship. His girlfriend was a jealous freak and a witch! We always had a good time when we were in class though. His girlfriend was a grade younger so she wasn't in them.

After high school I ran into him at the mall. It was such a shock! But regrettably, neither one of us thought to exchange numbers. I've never seen him again. I don't live out in that area anymore so I really don't expect too. But I think of him from time to time and wonder about him. It would be good to see him again. I miss him.

Well, two come to mind.

The first is probably not the type of thing you were looking for. Her name was Lisa, and we had been friends since I was 3 years old. Right after I graduated high school, she stopped talking to me. Soon after, I found out (the hard way) that she had stolen both mine and my mom's identity and charged thousands of dollars in our names. Trust me, she doesn't want to meet me now.

I would love to see the whole gang from high school, but the one person that really comes to mind was a very good friend named Nathan Stuart who I called Stuey. We met when he was on my prop crew for a play in high school. He became great friends instantly, but usually just hung out during drama related stuff. Then my senior year, my boyfriend couldn't come to prom, so me and my best friend decided to go with him and his best friend as "just friends." My boyfriend and I ended up breaking up the night before prom. I think at that point, Stuey wanted to become more than friends, but I had met Brian by then. But Stuey was still a great guy, and even gave me rides over to Brian's house when my car broke down. But then Stuey got a third shift job, I was in college, and we just grew apart. He was a great friend, and I still miss him very much. I don't have anything special I'd say to him if I could see him again, knowing both of us, I'd expect it would be just like no time had ever passed.

Thanks for all those who replied &shared stories....it's interesting how most people go years back and can find someone who they'd like to re-connect with (except for our FL man)....I brought this up because I ran into someone who I considered my first love recently. THe last time we really talked was in 1993-ish. Very interesting to see how people mature with time.

My once upon a time best friend John...I miss him in my life. He has been gone from my life for years for two reasons, 1) he claimed to be in love with me but I wasn't in love with him, and 2) he became VERY religious and rejected my non-christian ways. It's been at least a decade since he disappeared (he also disconnected from his family and other friends for their lack of religious conviction). If I had only a few moments to speak with him, I would just want him to know that I still wish for his happiness, care about his health, and hope he will reconnect with those that mourn his absence (especially his family). He was like a brother to me and, for that, I would not wish him ill or reject him.

mine did happen and I did say what I wanted to say. Smacked him ( yes I did Hit him) for being such an a$$ and hurting me and my partner and all our friends. I told him exactly what I thought of him. I told him his boyfriend is just waiting for the next best thing and then will dump him and then perhaps he will realize that all the friends he threw away he may still need.

its a long story and I wont get into all the details but suffice to say when I got done I felt better. it took me 3 years to find himm and only by coincidence as he works in the same building I do. I was told that this is how he is all those years ago ( I have known him 9 years) but yet I would not listen I stuck up for him and then he screwed me and You dont do that to me.
