Yes I forgot to mention that I received my thank you too! It was such a dramatic thing in my house that I forgot. Because I wouldn't let hubby see it- it all of a sudden became a note from my boyfriend! He was teasing, not really accusing this time.

Thanks again to all you that supported the effort!

I just filled out the paperwork and mailed out the check to COTA yesterday (which it turns out was a non-mail day).

I put on the form that we'd do it again next year (assuming we're still around of course).

Yup! Can you tell? I've been saying I'm going for 10 minutes now.

I'm back! We got the thankyou too.

Plus I got excepted to the beer of the month club! And a Walmart add....

I'm sorry, my bad. I appreciate that I got mine and now everyone can have something to look forward to besides bills!

posted in another thread, lot on my mind. When my uncle dies that will bring an end to the chance that my kids can experience his family like I did as a kid. Every Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember, we went to Wisconsin and spent the weekend at their farm. There were 11 kids, 2 parents and of course husbands, wives and kids. It was a zoo, but it was great! So much love and caring and fun. They can party like no family I have seen. They weathered some rough times, but always managed to get by. I hate that my uncle is suffering too. He is probably close to 80, but is retired has a girlfriend and most of his kids live somewhat close. I also hate that my dad moved down here away from them and the rest of his family, yet he(my dad) is so slack in the family department. My kids do not have what I had growing up- family involvement! Memories are great though- that I can never lose.

I'm so sorry to read about that. If anything, though, your past experience has made you a richer person and the person you are. Nothing can ever change that. And that should make up for it in other ways.

I have no idea what your family and friend situation is up here, but let me just say that if/when the time comes, and if you wanted to head to wisconsin, and needed a place to say you know for a fact that Riggs and/or I would be honored to put you up/ drive you to wherever you need to go etc- no way could you head up here and pay for a hotel. Thanks! Might need to take you up on that. My dad of course would want me to stay with him, but I think he thinks I would not go, so be careful what you wish for! He actually lives in West Bend- is that close?
