Plus it'll save me a few steps during your cookouts (that is if you build it closer to the picnic table than that shrub you have in the courtyard

Yay, more progress.

Today, I got the vinyl cut and glued down on the floor, and got the tub/surround caulked.

I called and left a message with the plumber to have him come asap and finish out the tub fixtures and set the toilet. Hopefully he can come Monday or Tuesday and do that for us.

Yay!

The plumber made it. We have a toilet and tub/shower on the main floor. I didn't get to shower in it tonight because we had to caulk around the tub spigot and that needs to dry. The toilet is working good though!

And with this post, I now know that the new walls didn't effect the wireless Internet signal either!

Looks awesome Web.  I was wanting to ask earlier how it was going.  I was starting to fear you start projects like my dad.  He's good at starting them, lots of them.  Not so good at finishing.  Actually he is.  He is quite the handyman and can do ANYTHING.  Mom always said, if you hire him, pay by the job, not by the hour.  He'll cost you a fortune by the hour, but when he's done, it's a perfect job.

Actually, I am a little that way . . . I've got some open projects to finish up. It just depends on how urgent they are. Like the siding on the house. The front is done, I still have the back to do. I was going good then hit winter (last year) and I got stalled out. I suppose this spring, I'll get back on that again. I think the problem for me is that with an old house, there is never a "done". There's always something else waiting for attention.

I'm in a very easy house right now.  If I have to sell, I'm going to look for something equally maintenance free.  My parents bought my grandmother's house in KY last year at the family auction.  They've been working at renovating it.  It's a great brick bungalow, built to last forever, just needs some cosmetic work.  They're putting in new kitchen cabinetry right now.  I keep telling them to save it for me.  In 10 years, I'd like to move back up there and keep it.  My great grandfather built it, my mom was born in it, my grandparents lived there my whole life, and it's just too heartbreaking to think of it ever leaving the family.  My dad however is not so attached to it.  Mom and I will have to keep working on him.  He keeps wanting to sell it.

That would be really neat if you could keep it in the family. There will always be things that need attention when you own a house though. But, it is nice to be able to do what you want and not give your monthly mortgage check to a landlord.
