Apparently this has just been unveiled following restoration work lol...I was there last week  but did not realise it had just been opened - I have 3 photos which I will mail to JD to post...


They had pictures on the wall of different sexual positions...and this apparently was part of the pricing policy. Many nationalities passed through Pompeii and not all spoke Latin...so they painted pictures on the wall instead of a long descriptive price list and then just put the price under the appropriate painting...Different positions incurred different prices.


I have a photo of one position; a photo of one of the actual beds (which seems to be made of stone) and the most amusing one of all is the sign to the Brother....a Phallus pointed the way...The phallus is incorporated into the road itself.


These Romans were awesome!!!

I really enjoyed our guided tour...quite fascinating - I had thought I might be bored.


The following week we went to "Herculaneum" or Erculano as it is now known. That town was also destroyed by Vesuvious in the same  eruption that destroyed Pompeii.


There is some remarkably preserved stuff - preserved because of the carbonisation.


I'm not into history but I did enjoy myself.


The actual Trek up to the crater of vesuvious was a bit tough in the heat though lol. I was surprised to see that she is still steaming
