What would your personalized license plate say?

In a prior post, I said my hubby's tags should be ABVTHLW- "Above the Law".  If I had one, I would want SATSFID.  It states my general state of being.  Maybe it was one reason my marriage failed.  I knew the marriage wasn't a fairy tale but was "Satisfied" with what I had.  Hubby wasn't.  The other one that would have worked well w/ hubby would have been NVRENUF.  You know the writing on the wall should have told me before I married that a "Satisfied" and a "Never Enough" are destined to fail.

What about you guy?  What does or would your license plate have on it?

I wanted to put Mema on my truck, but I saw it on someone else's car in our same county. Might go with Mema M.  Wonder if I could get "ELT" for the shop truck? Might have to check into that.

My son had a vanity tag for about 3 years that was "SXULDV8"  One of his neighbors finally figured it out an got offended... might have been the "I need to be spanked" bumper sticker. The state made him give the tag back. Now he has one that says "FTW" (F#@K The World).

It's doing okay.  Paying it's own bills for now, but not much in the way of extra. This is the slow time of year so business should be trending downward, but it is acutally trending upwards. I'm hoping at some point we will get past the "break even" stage and move into money making.

We are getting lots of repeat business and word of mouth referrals, which is nice. Most of the customers are really good people. We get a few wackadoos and jerks, but not many.

I couldn't figure it out either, Ruby. Glad I never saaw it, because when I can't figure out a license plate or read a bumper sticker, I tend to stalk the car until I can figure it out. And that wouldn't have been good.

By the way, I do have a custom plate. It is of course, music related, but I don't want to say what it is, because I don't want to give up my secret Bat-Identity. And I feel somewhat paranoid about this because:

Back in the 80's, we went to an outdoor Poison show (I went with my best friend, and my husband went with his best friend - we met up at the show.) And these 2 girls developed major crushes on the guys (Who could blame them; they were adorable) and getting out of the parking lot took forever, so we were sitting in line for over an hour without moving- seriously. During that time, the guys got in the back of the truck, and were air-guitaring and goofing around and being funny for our amusement l- we were in line behind them. Well, the 2 girls were nearby as well, and wrote down the truck's license plate number. Then the mom (who worked at the DMV) looked him up, and gave her daughter his phone number!!!! Couldn't you totally get fired for that? Anyway, luckily the girls weren't psychos, and became somewhat friendly with everyone, and were very supportive of the guys' band, so all was well. (But it coulda been reeeeeally bad)

Glad that at least things are looking up Mema!

LS I have done that before when I can't read a bumper sticker- weave through traffic to tailgate someone!

I had a guy contact me through looking up my license plate info- it creeped me out and I told him to lose my information or I would contact the police. He actually was a local DJ and saw me in traffic. He got my address and wrote me a letter. He was old and gross too! I told him if he ever contacted me again I would go public! I did call the police though cause I saw him drive by my house once!

I am an ******* magnet!

I checked online and it was available, so I was going to get WEBHOST. I decided to wait until my plates were due only a few months later. When it was time, the plate was taken. Next, I checked and WEBGUY is taken too.

So, I moved my ham radio plate from the pickup which doesn't get driven much, over to the van so my plate is NBØW.

WOW! Another person I know who that happened to. That's gotta be illegal, yes? Certainly scary!

I do not know, but it was creepy. I guess if you have a cop friend or a friend at the Dept of motor vehicles, you can get that info. Not sure if that stuff if public information. Should not be!

That would creep me out.  I did give momentary thought to putting Michele on my license plate, but let that pass quick.  The gen pop really doesn't need my name just by looking at my truck.

I feel for ya. Believe me, I'm a weirdo magnet myself. It's a joke with my friends at the office because every time we go on a hiring spree, I seem to accumulate more "hangers on" as they like to call them.  Weird guys who want to talk to me all the time  or for goodness sakes "help me" with whatever I'm doing.

Why "Thumper"? After the Disney character? I've always wondered, but never got around to asking.

Oh, it's a legal question from our conversation back there.  Is it illegal for a DMV employee to find someone's personal info (phone #, etc.) by getting their license plate number and looking it up for personal use?

Absolutely!!  Every lookup in the Registry of Motor Vehicles, requires the computer user to login w/ their name and then they need to put in the reason / authorized by on each request.  So they can basically explain why they are looking at this person's info.  But in the case of your state I do not know if they need to do this.  I know in MA you need to do this.

So if a police officer wants info on a plate or a licensed driver, the telecommunications operator has to give the reason on the computer why they are running the info, etc.....
