Walken to play Ozzy!

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 6, 2006 — Hide the Bats! Christopher Walken has agreed to play the ultimate bad-boy rocker — Ozzy Osbourne..

Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil told ABC News Radio in an exclusive interview that the 63-year-old Oscar-winning actor will make a cameo appearance as Osbourne in "The Dirt," a movie based on the band's controversial 2001 autobiography.

"How funny is that going to be," Neil told ABC's Al Mancini at the Opening of Vince Neil Ink, the singer's new tattoo parlor in Las Vegas.

Walken's press representatives did not immediately return a call to ABCNEWS.com for comment.

"The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band" set new limits in tell-all confessionals. The 448-page tome catalogues the drug and alcohol abuse, nasty infighting, and sex parties of Neil and band mates Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx.

The film, announced in April, is now in preproduction and is expected to be released in 2008 by Paramount and MTV. It's been billed as a true-life version of "This Is Spinal Tap."

Kilmer to Play Diamond Dave

Osbourne toured with Motley Crue and was friends with the band, and his antics, as recounted in the book, include snorting a line of live ants (while looking for a fix of cocaine) and taking LSD every day for a year "just to see what would happen."

Neil says that other stars are going to appear in the film as rock stars, including Val Kilmer as David Lee Roth. "We're doing big, giant cameos with those people," he says.

As for Neil and his Crue, they'll be played by unknowns.

Walken is a phenomonal actor. And this is just a cameo appearance, I have a feeling he might just do a great job at it!

Who woulda thunk Charleze Theron coulda played Eileen Wournos so well?

You know, thinking about it, there are much worse things than Christopher Walken playing Ozzy Osbourne

Could you imagine OZZY playing Christopher Walken in HIS life story!

Does anybody else still picture Christopher Walken and Will Farrell in the cowbell skit on SNL when you hear Blue Oyster Cult.  All I can think of is "I need more cowbell."

I became a fan of Christopher's when he did that video a few years back where all he did was the dance.  It was FABULOUS!!  Unfortunately, I can't remember the song or the band.  How sad is that!

Did Ozzy ever use a cowbell?  That was great...whenever I hear BOC's Don't Feal the Reaper I wait for the cowbell!

Was it Fatboy Slim?

I don't remember it either but I remember thinking it was not a group I would have expected him to do a video for.

You like Blue Octobers HATE ME T-Gal? lol. That was the only song I debuted yesterday that I didn't like! I had to cut it down because it had an F-Bomb in it and it was nearly six minutes long. I got rid of the F-Bomb and dropped it to 4:30.

Again, guilty as charged.  I'm not alone though, Darlene likes it too.  And as most people can tell when I request totally inappropriate songs for theme day.  I don't hear or pay attention to most lyrics so I never hear the F .

And it was Fat Boy Slim.  Good Job JR!!

One song I didn't like today was the Killers new song which makes me REALLY sad because I have their last album and LOVE it.  They WHOLE thing would work on this station.  It is very Retro 80's sounding.

PS:  There's another word I can't use:  Hat(e)

Just to clarify, I think the movie is a bad idea. I love Christopher Walken and think he'd do great!

I've been hearing about this movie for a long time, and I hate the idea.  Loved the book, but there's no way you can get someone to "play" 4 rock gods like Motley.  It's just not gonna be believable.  Like all of those terrible VH-1 movies
