60 Minutes' Ed Bradley Dies

Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali and Timothy McVeigh don't have much in common, except maybe one person: Ed Bradley.

Bradley, the veteran 60 Minutes correspondent, who interviewed newsmakers for 26 years on the top-rated newsmagazine, died Thursday of leukemia, CBS said. He was 65.

It was not known how long Bradley had been ailing. One of his most recent reports, on the Duke University rape case, aired just last month.

Bradley won 19 Emmys during his career.

Born June 22, 1941, in Philadelphia, Bradley once recalled that as a boy the nuns at his school told him he could do anything.

Said Bradley: "I guess I believed them."
