The things you almost buy waiting in line at Walgreens...

I think we talked about this last year when someone noticed they were back on the market, but I was at walgreens last night and was soooooooooo close to buying one of those classic football games...

I never owned one of those things, but my uncle did back in the 80's and i used to play that dumb thing for hours at a time.

Even now I'm wondering if I need to go back and get it

Anyone else remember this one?

you just gotta go up down up down up down untill the first defender charges- then make a break for it- go around him then hop up behind him and just go go go go go.......

i never liked it. But I did have a boxing game that I loved. But then I figured out how to cheat and it became boring.

Yeah, that's the way I was with Rubik's Cube.

Once I realized how easy it was to pop the cubes off and put em' back in the right order I lost interest in it.

Can you beleive we used to think the SLINKY was a cool toy?!?

A SPRING! NUTHIN' BUT A SPRING!!!!

How long do you think a kid TODAY would play with a Slinky for? Maybe 10 seconds before moving onto their Play Station 3

Me too

It was actually good exercise too! I'd have to walk up all the stairs to have it walk down the stairs, then do it again. Over and over and over.

Wow . . . THIS was my favorite toy when I was about 10. I had both the building set and bridge set. They are still at my dad's house. Some day, I'll dig to the back of the closet and get them out for my boy.

I remember when I got those. I had asked for either the building or the bridge set for Christmas. They were quite expensive even back in the 70's. I remember I told my mom that I couldn't decide which one I wanted more and that I'd be happy with either one.

At Christmas, I opened my biggest box first and it was the building set and I was happy. My next present was smaller and I figured it was a pair of jeans or something "blah". Imagine my surprise when the other box was the bridge set! I couldn't believe my parents got them both for me. I remember that as if it was yesterday.

Thats so weird Web. For some reason I remember getting my set like it was yesterday too!

I remember having no idea what it was and thinking it was a sucky gift But I wound up loving it. Those little see-through panels, very neat

The only thing I was disappointed in was that the road pieces for the bridge set were not quite wide enough for Hot Wheels cars. I thought it was going to be so much fun building bridges across stuff and then run my cars over them . . . . I didn't have any cars that were small enough to fit on the roads.

I saw a blast from the past in Costco last weekend... Tinker Toys!  I didn't know those are still made.  I'm planning on getting a set for my grandson, Walker. Maybe a tub of Lincoln Logs too.

Our son has some . . . The brand he has are called "Fiddle Sticks" but they are the same size and fit right up with the "Tinker Toy" pieces.

Yay ME!

I just got home from buying the Football game!

It was $12.99. Now here's something disturbing.

We had Atari when I was a kid (that's not the disturbing part). My Dad won a football pool and had $250 coming to him when he announced to the family he was gonna buy us an Intellivision, which was soooooooo much slicker than Atari and pretty pricey back in the day (early 80's).

Games were pricey too. We paid about $25 a piece if I remember correctly.

Well, Walgreens had an intellivision thingy that had TEN games (most of the ones we had) for $9.99!!!! That's the system AND the games (which have now all been condensed into a single hand control!)

Un-Flippin Believable!

Breakout and Super Breakout ruled!! I'd get pissed and throw the controller, walk away and then turn right around and sit to play again with more determination!
