OK LS you got me thinking...

Besides Carter & Cosby......

Bruce Springsteen (walked into A Blues Brothers, the original with Dan and John in 1980)

Kenny Loggins, Hall & Oates, Gary US Bonds, America, Al Jarreau, George Thorogood, Elvis Costello, David Johannson, Deborah Harry from Blondie (the rest of the group too) John Cougar (before he was John Mellencamp), Bill Joel, Cher, Gene Simmons, Chastity Bono (all three at the same time, it was before KISS was seen without makeup, it was surreal meeting Gene without makeup), Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders too), Southside Johnny, Sister Hazel (the whole band), Gilbert Gottfried, Rececca Schaeffer (from the TV show My Sister Sam, just a few weeks before she was killed), Lynn Swann, Pam Dawber, Mark Harmon, Robin Quivers & Gary Dell'abate (from the Howard Stern Show), Christie Brinkley (the most beautiful person I've ever met), Hank Aaron (breakfast with him), Rich DeVos, Julius Erving, Jim Palmer....I'm tired remembering all this...there are more, but these jump out.  These were all more than just causul handshakes (except Bruce, which was just that a quick hello and move on)....

Blondie (the rest of the group too)  Oh man!  I really wanna meet Jimmy Destri!

Cher, Gene Simmons, Chastity Bono (all three at the same time, it was before KISS was seen without makeup, it was surreal meeting Gene without makeup)  VERY cool!  Did you recognize him at first, or did you figure it out after seeing Cher & Chastity?

The Pretenders You mean James Honeyman-Scott & Pete Fardon?!

Rececca Schaeffer (from the TV show My Sister Sam, just a few weeks before she was killed)  That was so tragic!

Mark Harmon  Yummy yum yum!

Hank Aaron (breakfast with him)  The baseball legend?  How did you manage to have breakfast with him?  Stories!  I want stories!

OK Here's some of the story on these....

Bruce: Iwas working for the #1 concert promoter in NYC in 1980 and we went to our theatre to see the Blues Brothers during their only concert tour (sorry, I knew what I was talking about!).  As we were walking in the back stage door, the security guy goes "Hey Boss" and we figured he was talking to the three of us.  Nope...we looked to the left and there was this little guy (about 5-6, 5-7) walking in and it was Bruce.  Said hey and then lost him in the theatre never to bee seen again....

Blondie....it was 1978 right before Heart of Glass hit # 1.  I was the concert promoter from my college and I booked Blondie with David Johannson as the oipening act.  David drove down from NYC (the show was in southern NJ) and brought a friend of his with him (Elvis Costello, who did a few songs with David on stage) to perform.  The guys in Blondie were very cool...Debbie was a bit of a diva, but they sure rocked the house that night!

Cher & gang...It was 1980 and Chare had just started dating Gene.  I had no idea who the ugly guy was until I someone mentioned it to me.  I did see about 6 or 7 cameras broken by secruity that evening though - there were to be no photos of Gene at that time without his makeup.  Lots of finger pointing in the crown though!  Chasity was a real bitch, as she basically walked around saying "I'm Chastity, Cher's daughter and you're not...and she was maybe 13-14 at the time).

The Pretemnders were also in the summer of 1980.  And yes it was the original band...Chrissie, James Honeman-Scott, Martin Chambers and Pete Fardon.  My boss (the concert promoter) always did a summer end BBQ after one of the last shows of the summer season and it was the Pretenders that year.  The group hung around and partied with us in Central Park for several hours!  My college room mate came to that show with me and still to this day, 26 years later, talks about that!

Rebecca was one of the celebrities at a Big Brother/Big Sisters bolwing event I did at Madison Square Garden.  She was a real nice girl.  I laos had Alison Smith (the blond daughter from Kate & Allie and the original Annie on Broadway) there too.

Mark Harmon was a neat story as I attendined a taping of My Sister Sam (Pam Dawber was the spokeswoman for Big Brothers/Big Sisters) when Pam was to tape a PSA for us.  after the show was done taping, we all went down to the stage area while Pam and Rebecca kept blowing their lines.  It was very funny.  Then all of a sudden this guy come up behind me puts his hands on my shoulders and say something like "It will take her another 100 takes to get it rightm she's terrible without a script"  I laugh, turn around and see it's Mark Harmon.  We had some great conversations the rest of the evening, everything from acting to football.

Hank Aaron was a member of the Board of Directors fro Big Brothers/Big Sisters and we had our annual meeting in Milwaukee, at the Hyatt Downtown.  That's where Hank started his career, so it was very neat to be around him in that town.  One morning my boss was chatting with Hank and I came up and asked if he'd mind signing a couple of baseball for me.  He said sure, but I had to run up to my room to get them.  Hank wasn't sure he'd be around when I returned, but my boss told me they were going over to the cafe to have breakfast and I could join them....which I did.  This was one of the biggest thrills in my life as I grew up with Hank as one of my two baseball idols

Holy crap!  She is on my shortlist too!  I once waited near the backstage area for about 2 hours for her.    I'm gonna have to start living vicariously through you, Thumper!  Now tell me every detail you remember about Mike Nesmith?

Good Lord LS. That was 1986. I cant remember back that far for everydetail.

I do remember that my friend Cindy called me over to talk to her parents and I realized in the car was Michael Nesmith. I did not recognize him at first but when she introduced me I knew then who it was. He was really nice and I think just trying to live a normal life. He gave me a signed greatest hits album. I am not sure if I still have it.

Wow.  That's a tough autograph to get!  I have none of Michael's.  I have about 20 things with Davy's, Micky's & Peter's, but not a damn thing with Michael's!  And I am in the same boat as thousands of other fans with that situation!

Yes... somewhere I have a picture or two of me and Ali.  Super sweet guy.

Buck O'Neil should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame, but was tragically robbed of the experience. He was a player for the KC Monarchs... one of the Negro League Baseball teams.  After his retirement as a player, he spent the rest of his life being what is widely regarded as "baseball's greatest ambassador".

Those guys should really try working out so they won't look so flabby...
