The MIX just got better!

Woo Hoo!

I discovered the COOLEST feature in our broadcast software that previous to this I never knew how to use.

When there are no requests in the cue I think you'll all find the mix to be MUCH more interesting now.

Turns out I can set it up in a billion different ways.

For example, right now I have it set up for a five song loop.

The first song is a CURRENT HIT

The second song is a TOP 40 80'S HIT

The third song is the LEAST PLAYED TOP 40 80'S HIT on the playlist

The fourth song is a RANDOM SONG FROM THE ENTIRE 10,000+ libary

The fifth song is another TOP 40 80'S HIT

Now by comparison, the previous non-request mix was ALL TOP 40 80'S HITS.

There are infinite possibilities with this system!

WOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It just get's better and better

That sounds very cool! A great variety like that will keep non-request times from seeming stale or repetetive

I know!

I decided I had to play around with it after I heard Joan Jett's Crimson & Clover play at about the same time every night four nights straight! The system ignored other Jett songs but overplayed that one.

Worse yet, I noticed the same songs were playing AROUND thet Jett song too. That's no good.

I am glad you could mix it up a bit. I know you are trying to channel some top songs from today, but if I hear Rascal Flatts one more time!

Uh, I hate to break it to you but that was never part of the mix. If you heard Rascal Flatts it was by request, and USUALLY by ME

No, that new song from the Cars soundtrack kept playing in between requests during the afternoon. There was no requested tag on it!

Uh huh, that's cause I kept putting it into the cue here on my end I'm the stealth requester

Oh, it also does get played once per day on it's own as a "NEW SINGLE" selection, but the rest were all me. What can I say, I LOVE THAT SONG

Thanks guys.

I'm glad you all like it too. I know at night I've enjoyed it much more over hearing the same songs for the 100'th time A lot of times I just wanna tune in and be surprised instead of having to request.

Riggs-

When you say "top 40 of the 80s"- do you mean the overall top 40 of the years 80-89? Or is it the top 40 of each year?  That's be cool.  I wonder if we could ever have a time dedicated to a certain year, like 1981 or whatever.

That's not a bad idea for a theme day Cheese, A certain year. We'd have to see if we could find a website that lists the years of release though so people knew what songs fit.
