色々なところにストローをさして、様々な味のハーモニーを楽しむデザート。
自分で色々な部分をストローで探しながらいただく、そのアイデアが面白いのか、
ことさら娘は夢中になって、何個も食べたがるので困りました(笑)。


計りにのせて計量しながら、少しずつストローで流し込む作業は
いつもは賑やかなお教室もしんとするほど、集中する作業です。
じっくりとお菓子を作る作業に集中していると、
シェフの陽気で温かな人柄とも相まって、
物を創ることの楽しさを再認識する大事な時間です。

I hate the stuff only because I do not eat many desserts...far too sweet for me...but I always eat the fruit off it!  Yummy exotic fruits usually used!

key lime pie is awesome- very light and yes, tart. It is very popular here! Here is some more info:

The Key lime (Citrus aurantiifolia, Citrus aurantifolia, or Citrus x aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle), also known as the Mexican lime, West Indian lime or Bartender's lime, has a globose fruit, 2.5-5 cm in diameter (1-2 in), that is yellow when ripe but usually picked green. It is smaller, seedier, has a higher acidity, a stronger aroma, and a thinner rind than that of the more common Persian lime. It is valued for its unique flavor compared to other limes, with the key lime usually having a more tart and bitter flavor. It is perhaps most distinguished as an ingredient in the Key lime pie.

Do you have pies in the grocery store that are frozen?? That is one way.

This one is pretty simple- any lime would do!

Key Lime Pie
(serves 8)

Ingredients
1/2 cup key lime juice
3 egg yokes
1(14 oz.) can of sweetened condensed milk
1 pre-made graham cracker pie crust

Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350‹F. Combine lime juice, egg yokes, and sweetened condensed milk with wire whisk until smooth. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before refrigerating. Serve chilled with a dollop of whipped cream.

Thank you so much Ruby!  I'm going to make one when I go back to Weipa!  I have a several lime trees out the back which are fully loaded at the moment...unless the birds have got to it by the time I get back!  Yum...can't wait!

Oh I love to cook and bake!  I usually make for everyone else as I don't eat many sweet things...I try not to anyway!


Just shipped all my cookbooks up to Weipa so will probably be baking for all the indigineous kids that seem to be floating about!

I used to love to cook and bake, but not so much now. I have not really baked since I was a teen, but I will start more now that my three year old will be fun to teach. But the hubby does not clean, so I gave up cooking. I will be needing to dust off the ole cookbooks soon!
