I hear you on that one! I got to leave work early today and I got to the mall at 2ish. It was worse than the day after Thanksgiving, except everything is picked over and the lines are longer cause people are buying and EVERY store must be short handed. Oh yeah and NO ONE has a job! I said I am as done as I am gonna be- I can't handle it!

How people work in retail I will never understand! I worked in a record store and that was the only thing I could help purchase. People are not so dumb or rude in a record shop.

I hear that, Ruby!!


next year I am going to take the public bus, but stop off at the tavern first and just get totally totally lit, then bus it to the mall. just like a bum. I am hoping too too much alchohol would make it less painful, sort of an anestesia, or dumb me down to the level of the huddled masses so that I feel a joyus affinity with my fellow man........

I have definitely scaled back the last couple of years. Christmas is way out of control and makes people broke, sad and miss the real reason we are celebrating.

Ruby I too have scaled back!  Hand made gifts of love to everyone I give now!  Usually a painting or drawing I have done myself...everyone loves them.  All it costs me is a bit of time and effort!

When I was 18 and had just moved here and was broke, I cross stitched everyone an ornament. It took forever, but I loved the feeling it gave me to share my hobby and give such a unique heartfelt gift. My mother in law is bed ridden and crochets all the kids gifts- stuffed animals, purses, sweaters, etc... I think it is too neat!

They are on the beaches here Jules, like a shell, they are alive. It was neat to share them- I sent one to Wisconsin (JD), one to Indiana (MZ) and one to England (Pip and her girls!)

They are amazing!  So pretty as well!


I'll have to send you some of the unique things you can get up in Weipa!  There are beautiful unique shells everywhere...well I live in the area of the Great Barrier Reef so you can imagine some of the things I can find!

You wanna crocodile tooth?  They are cool!  Highly prized here...I come from crocodile territory so I am one of the lucky ones who do not have to pay exorbitant amounts for them!

Can you find the teeth on the ground Jules? The shark teeth wash up on the beach. They are hard to find though, they blend in well on the beach.

Yes you can find them on the ground...of course they are hard to spot but some of the aboriginal folk have shown me where to look!  I have a couple and have given some to friends as well!


When I get back to Weipa I'll go on a search for you guys! 


I'd love to be able to share something like that with you!
