I thought I would share a pic of Weipa with you all!  I'm heading back to this after being in the city!  As you can see...red dust and dirt and nothing else!  But all that dirt is surrounded by much ocean, rivers, lakes and dams...and also home to some magnificent sunsets, wonderful wildlife and much much fishing!  Will share some other photos with you later of the wildlife!  Ps they are clickable images!

that is amazing!!! amazing!!!


I see stuff like that, and I think of the miracle that our whole planet is able to sustain life!! that is the same sun up in the sky for us all over the whole huge living world, the same living planet with plants, oceans, animals, beautiful clouds and sky,,,,amazing! whatever one may call it, the hands of God, the mystical law, I think its salience and sustainability proves indeed that nothing is not within the realm of a miraculous life force!

And this makes it such a tease to not be able to swim in the water!!!!!  You wouldn't think there were crocodiles in there!

Ankle deep swimming only...but you have to always be on the lookout!  I was fishing off that beach and the snap of a crocs mouth upon my fishing line sent me running for cover!

I oughta come down there and get elected to animal control!! crocs on white sand beaches, cane toads in bathrooms, snakes in the backyards??? I am not one for mass extermination, but relocation might be ideal! wait, yea. I know my limits....I am not up to the task. I politely decline any nomination for the position of australian wild-life control!

        Hey Jules, that looks "Most Excellent"! it just reminds me of the view we get here in Liverpool when u go to the docks! lookin out on the river Mersey. (NOT!!!)Ha Ha


Jules does anyone really know how many Crocs are in those waters?

Jules sent a pm- she was having trouble posting in threads, but she says thanks- can't wait to get home, it might be 3 more days due to the rains and plane schedulings, but she will definately post more pics when she gets home and rested!

Hey thanks JD for passing on thanks for me!  And yes everyone...I am stranded in Brisbane due to flooding rains right now...  Very very frustrating...I have been trying to get home for 1 and a half weeks now.  But I will get there...not before I strangle the airline people if they call me one more time to tell me once again of another delay!


I can't wait to get back to Weipa...and I'll be heading straight for that beach!

is there any improvement in the weather? I saw a news story that they are concerned about a "prefect storm" so to speak.

No...there is a severe freak storm being watched at the moment AC!  At least it is coming in from Western Australia but these things seem to sweep in over the top end of Australia as well.  It is cyclone season after all!  But I am a little worried...this storm they are saying is a one in about 100 years or so freak thing or something like that!

I'm still stuck in Brisbane AC!  I had to get myself a hotel room for a few days until the weather settled a bit...I should be able to get through on Tuesday!
