Another Monday
(Preview)
I used to like Monday's. Anymore, I dread them and any other day of the week in the office. The energy is very tense and icky. We have to put Little Bear down. He broke his leg back in May, and it just never healed right and he broke it again. Funds in the DS household just can't support the vet bills. It...

Happy Friday!
(Preview)
Good day, all. Not a lot going on here at the moment. I decided to work from home today. It has been a long couple of weeks. Might as well enjoy some down time while I can. Hope everybody has a great day!

It must be Thursday
(Preview)
Good day all. It was a chilly walk in this morning, only 33° and windy. But it's sunny, and is supposed to get to 56°. No walking tomorrow though, it's supposed to rain and we have a flood watch out.

Wednesday...or shall we say "whensday"?
(Preview)
Hola everyone from the greater Milwaukee Metro area where it is currently 23* and sunny outside. I have finished another work week and have off tonight and Thursday night. So the sun just seems a bit brighter...maybe because I work third shift and only see the sun's pale cousin, the moon, on a regula...

Good day all. My boss is back, they had to come in super early this morning to put out a fire, so my day is starting off a little crazy. I should be able to settle down with my cuppa and get back to the normal routine here now that I've caught her up.

Monopoly used to be round!
(Preview)
This round board made from oilcloth is one of 5000 made by Charles Darrow in 1933. This is the only circular Darrow Monopoly game known to still exist. It is hand coloured in pen and ink and the pieces are made of wood moulding. Darrow based his game on political activist Lizzie Magies Landlords Game wh...

It's Monday
(Preview)
Good day all. I'm not sure what this day will hold yet, but I think the stress has carried over from Friday. Too many people waited too long for their stuff, and now they expect me to make up for their procrastination. And my boss is still out until tomorrow, she's passed enough stuff on to me as it is.

I could never get the hang of Thursdays
(Preview)
Good day all. I have a feeling this is going to be One Of Those Days. I walked to work this morning. I really debated whether I should, whether I felt good enough to and whether the weather would hold out. I feel OK, just a little stuffed up, but I took a look at the hourly forcast, and it looks like it's goin...

Predictions for the future
(Preview)
We had one of these threads before, a looong time ago. What do you think will be some upcoming future technology? (And I don't mean nail polish with a slanted brush.) I had a discussion with someone over the weekend how future phones were portrayed in the 90's. Science fiction phones could do stuff lik...

The 8th Tuesday of the Year
(Preview)
Morning all. We had a couple inches of that pesky, white, fluffy stuff overnight. The sun is due out but it will be cold and windy. I haven't exactly decided what I want to do today. I supposed I should finish a few schedules and get them to the boss.

Happy President's Day
(Preview)
Good day all. With the exception of working for the government, does anyone get this day off any more? Our schools are even in session today. (I'm guessing to make up for a snow day.) Obviously I'm at work, or else I wouldn't be able to post this. I think I'm getting sick, but if anything, I'd come to work...

Good day all. I'm PISSED. Our internet was down last night, but I thought it might be just a blip, so I shut the modem off for the night. This morning, it's still down, so I call AT&T. They say it looks like it's the telephone line, and they won't have someone out to fix it until Thursday! I looked int...

Good day all. It's beautiful here again. And I walked to work again this morning. It was still quite muddy, but it hasn't rained or anything, so I figure the walk in will just continue to be muddy. I'm debating whether to walk tomorrow. If I do, I won't be able to go to the bank to deposit my check during...

First Day as Reigning Super Bowl Champions
(

(Preview)
The Last time the Green Bay Packers won a Super Bowl (1996), the Forum was not even an idea in JR's mind at the time. Heck, JR was predominantly a baseball fan and he and I had daily debates as to why football was superior or inferior to baseball. Well our little JR has come a long, long way. Last I heard, he...

Good day all. I walked to work today. My hands got a little cold, but I'm all warmed up now. It was actually kind of a hard walk. I walk on a path through a little wooded area, over an empty field where the train yard used to be, and over the construction for the new walking trail through town (north to sout...
